Finding Eternity: A Divine Response

The following is a satirical open letter from God to the author of "Finding Eternity"1

Dear J.S. Kasimir,

It's Me, God.2 Yes, THAT God – the one you've been crossing yourself to and bowing eastward toward every morning. First off, we need to talk about your morning routine. The bowing eastward thing? That's... not really My thing. You might be confusing Me with some of My colleagues in other faith traditions. But hey, I appreciate the enthusiasm.

I've been meaning to reach out ever since you appointed yourself My official spokesperson on transgender issues. I don't recall signing off on that press release. My inbox has been absolutely flooded with prayers from confused Christians asking, "Did You really tell this person that trans people are just confused souls with God-shaped holes?"

Let Me be clear: I did not.

You wrote that humans were "made to worship." Actually, I made humans to love each other, love themselves, and occasionally remember to water their houseplants. The worship thing was more of a bonus feature – like heated seats in a car. Nice to have, but not the primary function.

When you claimed transgender identity is "the most destructive form of chronic self-worship," I nearly spilled My celestial coffee. Really? More destructive than actual self-worship? Or wealth hoarding? Or environmental destruction? Or weaponizing My name to hurt vulnerable people? That's quite the theological hot take.

You know what's actually destructive? Telling people that their authentic selves are a mistake I made. That's giving Me way less credit than I deserve. I'm God. I don't make mistakes – I make humans, in wonderful diversity. Trans humans, cis humans, gay humans, straight humans – I made them all, and I checked My work afterward. It was good.

I particularly enjoyed the part where you said that "In a society that cringes at the mere mention of God, we turn to worship the unfinished god, which is Man." Have you checked American currency lately? Or noticed how many politicians invoke My name? Trust Me, society isn't cringing at My mention – though I sometimes cringe at how I'm mentioned.

And that line about transgender people having "an obsession with demons, tarot, and religion"? I've actually attended a few trans church groups, and let Me tell you – they spend a lot more time discussing Scripture than summoning demons. The potlucks are excellent, by the way.

You claimed to know what's in the hearts of all transgender people without ever having been one. That's impressive, considering even I give people the courtesy of letting them tell Me who they are. I'm God, and even I don't presume to know someone's gender better than they do.

About your claim that Christianity and being transgender are incompatible? I've got some news that might surprise you. Jesus hung out with everyone society rejected. If He were walking the Earth today, you'd probably find Him at a PFLAG meeting or a transgender support group, and even writing Substacks - just not about how everyone who doesn't experience gender exactly like you is spiritually empty.

In conclusion, please stop telling people what I think. I've given everyone direct access to Me – no intermediaries required. If folks want to know what I think about them being transgender, they can ask Me themselves. And they might be surprised by My answer.

With eternal love (yes, even for you),
God

P.S. Next time you want to speak for Me, maybe run it by Me first? My DMs are always open.

2 Not this God but nothing would make me happier with this post than to have his holiness endorse this letter/claim that he divinely inspired its writing, as that would be amazing!
