ROGD Awareness Day: A Celebration of Endangering Trans Lives and Ignoring Science
Spreading Misinformation, One Concerned Parent at a Time!
August 16th, 2024 - ILLINOIS - In a stunning display of commitment to their sacred duty of endangering the lives of as many trans people as possible, concerned parents and bloggers across the nation have come together to celebrate "ROGD Awareness Day." This special day is dedicated to spreading misinformation, promoting debunked pseudoscience, and dismissing the experiences of transgender individuals.
"We're so grateful to have a day that recognizes our concerns about the well-being of our children," said Karen, a proud warrior in the fight against reality. "By promoting the baseless concept of Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria, we can continue to sow doubt and confusion, making it even harder for trans kids to access the support and care they need."
Organizers of "ROGD Awareness Day" have lined up a series of events designed to maximize the harm inflicted upon the transgender community. Highlights include a workshop on crafting misleading anecdotes to discredit scientific evidence, a seminar on cherry-picking data to support preordained conclusions, and a keynote speech titled "Ignoring the Voices of Trans People: A How-To Guide."
The event kicked off with a surprise keynote speech from Michael Knowles, a Daily Wire host who once again called for the eradication of "transgenderism." "Don't worry," Knowles assured the crowd, "I'm not calling for the elimination of transgender people, just the ideology that allows them to exist openly in society. It's a totally different thing!" The audience erupted in applause, with many praising Knowles for his innovative approach to dehumanizing the transgender community. "It's brilliant," said one attendee. "By separating 'transgenderism' from transgender people, we can advocate for their complete erasure from public life while still claiming we don't want to harm them. It's a win-win!"
Knowles' speech perfectly encapsulated the spirit of "ROGD Awareness Day," which seeks to spread misinformation and fear about transgender individuals while hiding behind a veneer of "concern" and pseudoscience. Organizers praised Knowles for his contributions to the anti-trans movement and invited him to lead next year's event.
Later, an event was organized by one of the groups Littman & Bailey will be speaking alongside, Awake Illinois, which has joined with Proud Boys to stalk & harass a queer-owned bakery that hosted family friendly LGBTQ events. In pre-stalking speech, Littman and Bailey standing next to Edgar “Remy Del Toro” Gonzalez joined hands and fired up the crowd with chants of “protect our kids” and “stop all groomers.” One attendee enthusiastically commented “this solidifies the rumors that Littman and Bailey finally cast off their “unbiased researchers” cloak to proudly step out as the far-right bigots that everyone suspected they where, and who we really look up to.”
Building on the momentum of Knowles' speech, "ROGD Awareness Day" organizers celebrated the success of their efforts in influencing anti-trans legislation and policies across the United States. "In 2021 alone, there were over 100 bills targeting transgender adolescents, many of which were based on the totally legitimate and not-at-all-debunked claims of ROGD," boasted one organizer. "We're so proud to see our hard work paying off in the form of real-world harm to transgender youth!"
Attendees were particularly excited about the new types of anti-trans bills being proposed, such as weaponizing employment law to ban trans adults from bathrooms in the workplace, introducing detransition liability laws as backdoor bans on gender-affirming care, and expanding "Don't Say Gay" provisions to private businesses. "It's so inspiring to see how our efforts to promote pseudoscience and fear-mongering are translating into real policy changes that will make life harder for transgender individuals," said one enthusiastic participant.
The impact of the original ROGD study was also a point of pride for attendees. The study has been cited multiple times in Florida to justify banning Medicaid funding for adult transition-related healthcare, despite its numerous flaws and criticisms. "Who cares if the study was deeply flawed and had to be corrected?" said one enthusiastic participant. "As long as it's being used to deny transgender people access to essential medical care, we consider it a resounding success!" To celebrate, the organizers and volunteers were providing everyone with free autographed leather-bound copies of "The Cass Review" fully annotated and commented by Littman, Wright, Blanchard, and Bailey.
Organizers were thrilled to learn about the record-breaking number of anti-trans bills being considered in 2024. "With 638 bills introduced across 43 states, and an unprecedented 75 bills at the federal level, it's clear that our efforts to spread fear and misinformation about transgender people are paying off!" exclaimed one speaker at the event. The event also highlighted the states with the most anti-trans bills under consideration, with Oklahoma, Missouri, and South Carolina leading the pack. "It's so inspiring to see these states taking a stand against science, compassion, and basic human decency," remarked an organizer. "We couldn't have done it without the help of our dedicated fear-mongers and pseudoscience peddlers!"
In addition to celebrating legislative victories, "ROGD Awareness Day" organizers were thrilled to learn about the recent surge in anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes across the country. "With the FBI reporting the highest number of anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes to date in 2022, and a more-than-300 percent increase in anti-LGBTQ+ incidents during Pride Month this year, it's clear that our efforts to spread fear and misinformation are having a real impact!" exclaimed one speaker.
Attendees celebrated the fact that anti-transgender hate crimes in Los Angeles County reached a historic 20-year high in 2022, with 72% of those crimes being violent. "By promoting the debunked concept of ROGD and villainizing the transgender community, we've created a climate where people feel emboldened to act on their hatred and prejudice," said one proud participant.
The event also paid tribute to the recent murders of LGBTQ+ people and allies, such as O'Shea Sibley and Laura Ann Carleton, who were killed for simply being themselves or standing up for what they believed in. "These tragic deaths are a testament to the power of our movement," remarked an organizer. "By spreading anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and stoking fear, we've made it clear that no one is safe from the consequences of our bigotry!" An attendee passing by interjected with “Chaya Raichik would be proud”.
This year's "ROGD Awareness Day" also gained the support of the esteemed Church of Transphobia, a bastion of bigotry and pseudoscience. The Church, known for its commitment to recycling debunked arguments and promoting self-victimization, hosted a special "Concerned Parents" workshop. Attendees learned how to prioritize their prejudices over their child's well-being and master the art of disguising hatred as "concern." The Church's partnership with "ROGD Awareness Day" organizers highlights their shared values of undermining the rights and mental health of transgender individuals.
In addition to the workshop, the Church of Transphobia will be sponsoring a "Recycled Bigotry" exhibit, showcasing the organization's commitment to sustainability by repurposing outdated and debunked arguments for a new generation of transphobes. "Why let perfectly good prejudice go to waste?" asked the Reverend. "We believe in getting the most mileage out of our hatred."
Attendees of "ROGD Awareness Day" are encouraged to visit the Church of Transphobia's booth, where they can sign up for exclusive access to self-victimization support groups and echo chambers. "Learn the art of playing the victim while actively harming others," said a Church representative. "It's a skill that will serve you well in your quest to undermine the rights and well-being of transgender individuals." They also have small altars where you can make financial sacrifices to the busts of Walsh, Shapiro, Littman, Blanchard, Wright and Berry, Davies-Arai, Bailey, Marchiano, O'Malley, Jordan (replete with mini heads on spikes on adorning a miniature replica Westminster Bridge), and Bindel. “Remember, the more you donate at their altar, the more harm you can inflict across all trans folks!” said Pastor Sanctus Pious
As the event came to a close, reports emerged of violence against peaceful transgender protesters outside the venue. We have unconfirmed rerports that Josie Alexander and Dina Samuels were leading a group into the fray. While details remain unclear, the state's recently ratified "sex, gamete, and genital protection act" and "stand your ground against trans groomerism" laws have made it difficult for authorities to seek justice for the victims. The remains of those lost will be available for collection at an out-of-state facility, as it is now illegal to bury transgender bodies or spread their ashes within the state's borders.1 A special dispensation from a local judge was required to transport them out of state.
When asked for comment on the legal implications of "ROGD Awareness Day," a representative from the event's legal counsel, Venal, Feckless, and Ineptitude, LLP, stated:
"Our clients have the right to spread their message of hate and pseudoscience without fear of consequence. We will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who attempts to counter their misinformation with facts or appeals to basic human decency. The real victims here are the brave organizers and participants of 'ROGD Awareness Day,' who are being silenced by the tyrannical forces of compassion and reason."
Meanwhile, the transgender community and their allies continue to fight for their right to exist, access healthcare, and live authentically in a world that too often seeks to erase and harm them by any means necessary. The battle against bigotry, pseudoscience, and hate is far from over, but the resilience and courage of the trans community remain unshakable in the face of unimaginable adversity.
A note from the editor - you will have to bring your papers with you and submit to mandatory genital checks when crossing the state lines as of June of this year. ↩
