Saturday PITT Review - August 3 to August 17, 2024

Week #2 and #3 in this report, because I forgot to send one out last Saturday

Saturday PITT Review - August 3 to August 17, 2024

Welcome to the PITT weekly roundup where you find a list of the week’s postings along with links to some of our favorite books, videos, social media, podcasts and other ramblings that we wanted to share or think did not get enough attention, but did not warrant (or have time for) a blog post. Or maybe we just found them funny or entertaining. Please continue the fight against the harms of ‘gender critical’ ideology and like analogues by sharing. The more we can engage parents and activists with truth and facts, anecdotes and personal stories, the more likely we are to either inoculate a parent or family member against indoctrination, or potentially save one who already is.

Access to all PITT content is free. Our objective is to inform the public of the devastating impact of ‘gender critical’ ideology and misinformation on parents and families through our personal experiences, research, and sometimes, through satire. And it’s working (maybe, it’s only week 3)? Acceptance and support for trans kids and their transition is growing due to evidence-based findings (no way to know if this is true, but it sounds good)! Parents and children are finding their way back to each other, reconciling, and reconnecting! [probably not due to our efforts this week - I hope someday we hear stories about how this blog/site brought a family back together - that is not this week].

Quote of the Week from PITT substack notes:

"The less people know, the louder they proclaim it."

WOW! What a busy 2 weeks:

Normally I would recap all that I posted here, but considering that is a lot of articles, I shall just post the most popular ones, and ones I wished were read more. That total for the past two weeks is 18!

By far the most viewed/popular article was:

Local Parent Discovers Secret to Changing the World: Ignoring Experts and Spreading Misinformation Online
In a stunning revelation that has rocked the scientific community, local parent Sarah Johnson has discovered the secret to changing the world: ignoring experts and spreading misinformation online.

I am particularly proud of working on these, but wish they had more engagement:

Parenting a Potentially Transgender Child: Education, Not Indoctrination
As a parent, there are few things more challenging than navigating the complexities of a child's identity development. When a child begins to express gender non-conformity or question their gender identity, it can be a time of great uncertainty, fear, and even helplessness for many parents. We want what's best for our c…
The Inconvenient Truth About Indoctrination
Today, we're going to talk about a topic that might make some people uncomfortable, but it's crucial that we address it head-on. We're going to talk about indoctrination, particularly in the context of the gender-critical movement and the impact it's having on parents and families.

I assume the are too long, or the audience they are written for is not the audience I have :)

A quick aside: Today ‘we’ (by which I mean me) had 28 brand new subscribers over the past two weeks! I lost one for reasons unknown, even after trying to ask and find out. But I am still amazed and humbled that so many of you liked what I wrote so much that you chose to subscribe! So from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Please feel free to contribute, or send me your ideas on what you might like me to write about next. I would love to read your feedback and ideas in my email inbox!

Some questions for you, dear readers:

What do you like so far? What do you want to see more of?
Is there something you notice that is lacking here (or elsewhere) that you wish someone would write or create? Let me know!
